Spain: 
The historian Henri Daniel Rops wrote of Spain being a “land of stones and saints. The stones of Spain are not just found in the topography of the landscape, but are the works of human artisans, as the soul of Spanish culture have been magnificently configured into the great cathedrals of Toledo and Segovia. They are the stones of the walls of Avila, of which the cathedral of this city is an integral part.   The saints of Spain are many, but their sanctity is distilled in the formidable figures of St. John of the Cross and St. Teresa of Avila. As Father Barron and his Word on Fire team walked the pilgrim way of stones and saints, they saw an image of culture whose history is inextricably intertwined with the Catholic Faith.

Lourdes: 
“Go to the spring and wash…” This simple command, reported at the very words of the Mother of God by St. Bernadette have been carefully attended to by the generations of pilgrims who have sought the consolation of the great shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes. The waters of Lourdes draw the faithful from all over the world, healings both physical and spiritual have been attested to for years. Father Barron and his Word on Fire team found in Lourdes much more than just a spring, but a cascade of a heavenly grace poured forth from the tender mercy of the Mother of God.
