Sermon 433 : Third Sunday of Easter : Resurrection and Metanoia

The readings for today effect a correlation between the resurrection of Jesus and conversion. The biblical word for conversion is "metanoia" which has the sense of "going beyond the mind that you have." What would it be like to move from a death-haunted consciousness to resurrection-haunted one? It would involve a conversion.

This is an excellent presentation which helps me to use reasoning and faith to rethink and surrender my fears to the Love that God emanates.

Father Barron : wow!

I have some time off work right now and I have been graced with an opportunity to take a sabbatical of sorts (I'm not a scholar, by the way). It seems that the Holy Spirit has answered my usual morning request, " Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray . . . " by guiding me to spend an hour two every day slowly praying the Rosary like this : first, I locate homilies you've given on the mysteries I'll contemplate for that day. Also, I've taken some time to read the Holy Father's exposition of the Apostle's Creed in his 'Introduction to Christianity', along with locating your comments on the various articles of the Apostle's Creed. Plus I've listened to both your video commentary and a homily on the Our Father.

The Rosary has lead me, therefore, deep into my Catholic faith . . . with God's guidance and your help, Father Barron. Big time.

Wow. Along with some Chesterton, our Popes and Saint's writing, and my spiritual director's compassion . . . I have been brought to love our Lord like I never imagined possible. It's not all a happy time but, as you once said, once you know God is Loving you . . . you can . . . relax.

And work like a real human for once!

Wow. God bless you.
