Sermon 489 : The Holy Spirit that Awakens : Pentecost

Pentecost celebrates the awakening of the Holy Spirit within the disciples thus forming the Church. As the Holy Spirit unites the Church closer and closer to Christ, it pushes the faithful into a realm beyond self-determination. The more you allow the Holy Spirit to work in you, you paradoxically become both smaller and greater.

The Holy Spirit, "Ruah" in Hebrew is female. She proceeds from the Father and the Son, She is worshipped and glorified, She has spoken through the prophets.

In John 16:7, Jesus tells us; "For if I do not go, the Advocate (Holy Spirit)will not come to you. But if I go, I will send HIM to you." What you seem to be saying by your statement, Al, is "Jesus is wrong and I am right." Of course, you are making the same statement about the Church as well.

Fr. Hesburgh is known for his Land O'Lakes dissent and fanatical support of pro-abortion Bill Clinton (cf Clinton Legal defense fund) inter alia.

True, but his priesthood is valid, and so is the quote that Fr. Barron used from him.

No,not at all Deacon. We all know that when He stood to pray, He said "Abba" which we know is an endearing term like Papa or Daddy. So different from "Our Father". Hebrew, including aramaic is gender specific. Ruah is the term from the Scripture that Jesus "is and was" for The Holy Spirit.Ruah is female.
Your brother in Christ,
Al

It's so easy to forget that the Holy Spirit is not something that is intangible and no one can receive it. Instead, the Holy Spirit is in our hearts! It gets me so excited when I think about the fact that it is actually within me. God bless!
