Sermon 547 : The Little Ones : 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time

The purpose of Jesus' teachings is that we allow the divine life to surge through us so that we become transformed in Christ, making us more like Him. All our knowledge should serve this end. However, some learned people can use their knowledge to puff up their egos and put others down. The "Little Ones" are the people whose entire life is about helping others participate in the divine life so they may fully flourish.

It's sort of really amazing why such a behavior exists when at the end of the day, there's not merit to it in heaven. Father Robert, your sermon certainly reinforces my faith. I thank God for thee! That being said, I'd remember to be the "Little One".

Yes, we are weary, the community of God's children, dazed by the news, confused in a seemingly chaotic world. We have a hard time trusting like a child. Friday, was World Day of Prayer For Priests. I wish you would have included such an important day in your sermon. We refer to you as "Father", but indeed, you are also a child of God. Let us, your community, know that, so we can uplift you, in prayer, identify with your humaness, and surround you with our support, our own child-like hope, our mutual faith in Abba.
God Bless You, God Give You Rest, God Dwell Within and Without You In His Grace. God Speed!

Always inspirational and eye-opening are your weekly sermons, Fr. Barron. Thank you! Thank you! The weight of the ego and all it represents is truly a heavy burden. Fr. Barron really explains so clearly our need to return to the simply pleasures and the natural faith of little children "resting" in the Father's loving care, to receive the grace to let go of this great burden.

Thanks Fr. Barron, just what I needed to hear - I need to trust in Gods providence and forget worrying about the future.

I know what it like being the Pharisee. Reading your sermon I heard you talking about me. I have a lot of work to do if I want to be like the Little Ones.
