Just wondering if you saw the article from dr Gerald Schroeder, a Jewish rabbi, in the Jerusalem post, titled the rock of ages or the age of rocks. Incredible insight of genesis creation.

I agree with the premise of this piece, however, I think what trips people up with Genesis are the near scientific implications that theology draws form Genesis, for example, how does the human race spawn from a single couple without incest of some sort, and further integrating our descending from Adam with evolutionary facts, such as the existence of other human forms. Although there are certainly theological explanations out there which can overcome these objections, they are not well understood or well known.

Good insights on a couple of things. I like the idea that God creating everything overcomes all the ancient worship of sun, stars, animals, etc. I also like the idea that God's creation was peaceful and non-violent, in spite of so many who subscribe to the "Big Bang" theory, which even sounds violent!

Suggest we read the book, The Doctrines of Genesis, A Compendium and Defense of
Traditional Catholic Theology on Origins, by Reverend Victor P. Warkulwiz, M.S.S.

Fr. Warkulwiz (Ph.D.) drawing on his very substantial scientific background, walks us through the early chapters of Genesis showing and giving testimony to the essential compatibility between the literal account of Genesis, the understanding of the Fathers of the Church and the modern day observations of natural science.

He opens a clear path for dedicated Christians to read the Book of Genesis with a renewed and, to a certain extent, unencumbered faith.

In your Youtube video "Misreading Genesis" you said." Adam - don't read it literally, we're not talking about a literal figure we're talking about theological poetry."

Father Barron would you please elaborate on the non literal meaning of Adam in Genesis.
