Pacifism in the face of direct lethal threat to the safety of your person or those you love is an evil far worse than Bin Laden's. His was the crime of unwarranted violence; the pacifist's is one of outright betrayal. The Pope need not rejoice in the death of anyone but surely even he must understand that rendering unto to Caesar what is Caesar's is certainly justice.

Yes, he did very evil deeds and everyone was at risk as long as he walked the earth.

But, we are to hate the crimes, not the person. God desires everyone to be saved. On Divine Mercy Sunday, I prayed the Chaplet for ALL who are going to die that day. Later that day, I was overjoyed to hear that it was on Divine Mercy Sunday that Bin Laden had died. It was only on this day theat God's great mercy could reach out to him.

Thanks, Father. I agree Osama's crimes went way beyond the murders directly attributable to him. He stood for and actively propogated an evil "philosophy," one which will take a great deal more blood and treasure—and prayers—to squelch.

May God in His mercy protect the innocent from the wicked lies of false prophets.
