Economic power is not the same as political power and it is state political power that is the overriding cultural meme. Capitalism is really only private ownership of the means of production and distributionmof goods and services, and private is always more efficient that "public". As long as private is not buying protection from the state and competition keeps things relatively level and even. It is the consumerist mentality coupled with the materialist worldview taught in government schools, the conversion John Dewey promoted of Christianity to humanism (state worship) to benefit "society" that has led to this postmodern "cultural shipwreck". I will have to look for Clarks series.

Fr. Barron's ambition seems well-realized, from the bits I've seen, and its afflatus in Lord Clark seems well-placed, as I recall the Civ. Series. From what I have seen of your Catholicism project, and its apparently magisterial scope, am looking forward to the finished production. God bless and keep all associated with it.
