On July 31, the Church celebrates the feast day of St. Ignatius of Loyola, a Spanish priest and theologian from the fifteenth century and the founder of the Society of Jesus, best known as the Jesuits. St. Ignatius’ motto is Ad maiorem Dei gloriam (To the greater glory of God) and one of his masterpieces is the Spiritual Exercises.
St. Ignatius is one of Bishop Barron’s favorite writers and one of Word on Fire’s Pivotal Players. In commemoration, we are making his Pivotal Players episode available to view at no cost.
